- Description
Exclusive for Western Power families, presented by Young Engineers Australia, bringing hands-on Lego engineering and robotics learning to the workplace. Each day features different Lego-based challenges that keep kids engaged, curious, and excited to learn. Ideal for kids aged 5-12.
Day 1: Race Day Engineers
July 15@363 Wellington St OR July 6@SMDA high-energy day of building, testing and problem-solving, inspired by the world of racing and vehicle design. Throughout the day, students will explore key engineering ideas such as motion, speed, stability, steering and control through a series of hands-on LEGO® engineering builds. As they test, refine and compare different models, they will be encouraged to think like engineers by asking what works, what does not, and how a design can be improved. This is an exciting program for children who enjoy vehicles, movement, challenge and practical STEM learning.
Day 2: Theme Park Engineers
July 16@363 Wellington St OR July 7@SMDStep into the world of rides, motion and machine design as students become theme park engineers for the day. Using hands-on LEGO® engineering builds, children will investigate how engineers create attractions that are not only fun, but also stable, efficient and safe. Across the day, students will explore movement, forces and mechanical design while developing problem-solving skills, creativity and engineering thinking. This program combines the excitement of amusement rides with real STEM concepts in a fun, engaging format.
Day 3: Animatronics & Robot Engineers
July 17@363 Wellington StA creative engineering day inspired by moving models, robotic systems and mechanical design. Students will take part in a range of hands-on LEGO® engineering activities that explore how engineers use gears, mechanisms, movement and simple programming concepts to bring machines to life. Along the way, children will strengthen their problem-solving, observation and design-thinking skills as they build, test and investigate how different systems work. This is a strong option for children who enjoy robotics, movement, technology and seeing engineering in action.
Don’t miss out! Spaces are limited and exclusively available to Western Power employees. Book now to secure your child’s spot for an unforgettable learning adventure this January.
